The mission of the Epilepsy Foundation is to lead the fight to overcome the challenges of living with epilepsy and to accelerate therapies to stop seizures, find cures, and save lives. More than 3 million people in the U.S. – and more than 65 million people worldwide live with epilepsy. Over 1 million people living with epilepsy experience uncontrollable seizures and are unable to find an effective treatment, and 2 million do not know the cause of their seizures. 1:26 people will develop epilepsy at some point their lives…. ONE in TWENTY-SIX! There are more people living with epilepsy than with childhood autism spectrum disorders, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis and cerebral palsy – combined. This is unacceptable.
